                  _ Medical and  Technical Support

Part of our mission is to strengthen the capacity of the health system to provide both preventive and curative care. We believe that quality health care provision depends on the knowledge of health providers. HDI provides advanced training to nurses, doctors, and other health professionals at local health centers, district hospitals, and private institutions. Qualified local, regional, and international medical professionals assist in training on medical techniques and protocols.

Our program aims to foster long-term collaboration between the international and Rwandan medical community. The medical missions we organize provide lifesaving treatments and surgeries not otherwise available to patients in Rwanda’s health facilities. Visiting medical specialists in the fields of cardiology, obstetrics and gynecology, orthopedics, and plastic surgery work alongside their Rwandan counterparts to treat patients while also providing mentorship.

We aim support the long-term development of Rwanda’s health system by improving the knowledge and capacity of our health institutions and their staff. We encourage volunteers to provide training and education in addition to treatment. Through these trainings, local health workers gain advanced knowledge of lifesaving techniques and treatments that can be implemented and replicated throughout Rwanda. These collaborations increase the quality and scope of medical care in our country.
